Find all best salts for cooking from all over the world!
The ordinary iodized table salt from the supermarket is far from being the end of the line. This salt has undergone a long process, at the end of which only the basic elements sodium and chloride remain. Important trace elements and minerals such as potassium, iron and magnesium have completely disappeared. Only iodine, so important for the human body, is added to the table salt. In other salts, such as rock salt or sea salt, this deficiency is not present. You can also get your daily dose of iodine by using sea salt. The sea salts in our range come from the pacific or the Atlantic, for example. You will find salts from all over the world, for example from Africa, Asia and Hawaii. Worldwide, salt has been mined or extracted from the sea since the Stone Age, i.e. for thousands of years. The many different climatic zones and geological conditions of our planet fortunately provide a very, very diverse taste of the different salts. This diversity is not comparable to the refined salt you can buy in any grocery store.
Our salts meet high quality standards!
Many of our salts and salt mixtures are free of any additives and harmful substances. This applies in particular to our own brand World of Salt. So you only get the natural salt taste or natural flavour. Our products do not contain any preservatives, flavour enhancers, colourings, flavourings, anti-caking agents etc. In addition, the products are regularly checked for quality by an independent test laboratory. For example, we make sure that the products from our company do not contain any mould spores or pesticides.
With salts and seasoning salts from other manufacturers, we can also guarantee this quality standard up to a certain point. We make sure in advance, when selecting our products that the goods correspond to the Pepperworld philosophy. In addition, we sometimes work very closely with the producers of the spices. You can buy pure spice salt in our shop, but also pure salt. Under the World of Salt label, we offer, among other things, the fine French sea salt from Guérande.
The importance of salt to flavour
We need salt for our physical health, but we need it to give flavour too. In the kitchen you can’t do any recipe without the "white gold", even in recipes for desserts a pinch of salt is often found. For example, the combination of sweet and salty creates a complex taste experience in a dessert at the end of a meal. But not only desserts, other desserts, such as popcorn, also taste good with a pinch of salt. This spice acts as a natural flavour enhancer by emphasising the individual flavours of the food.
Salt is the basis of every spice mixture!
Because salt is important for the human organism but also as well as giving taste to food, it is the basis of almost all spice mixtures. Another advantage of salt in spice mixtures is that it does not taste too dominant, at least in moderation. The salty taste harmonises with many other aromas and flavours. Salt goes very well with pepper but garlic and paprika powder also go wonderfully with salt.
The "aioli pepper salt" from the Ankerkraut spices manufactory is a good example of how salt, pepper and garlic harmonise perfectly with each other. This aromatic salt is not only suitable for use in delicious grilled butter, but also for seasoning fish or making fresh garlic bread, for example. Of course, you can also season anything else that needs a garlic note with Ankerkraut's "aioli pepper salt".
The slightly pungent aromas of ginger also go well with salt. This is also evident in the delicious "ginger-garlic salt", which also comes from the Ankerkraut company. In terms of taste, the fresh and pungent aromas of this spice salt are particularly suited to Asian cuisine. You can use the "ginger-garlic-salt" for example for rice or poultry dishes. If you buy this salt, you will get the pure taste, the manufacturer does not use any flavour enhancers or other additives at all.
The fiery "chilli salt" also comes from Ankerkraut. This seasoning salt also requires only three ingredients: sea salt, chilli and cayenne pepper. The proportion of chilli is comparatively small, so the overall pungency of this chilli salt is not too pronounced. In terms of taste, the composition goes well with meat, fish and vegetables, for example. However, you can also spice up other recipes with this salt.
The spice mixture "salt & pepper deluxe" of our own brand World of Salt is a kind of home-creation. In this mixture two delicacies meet: Indian sunflower salt and fine Malabar pepper. Tellicherry pepper is added to this. All these spices combine their aromas to create a truly delicious seasoning salt that is perfect for seasoning at the table. But you can also use the "salt & pepper deluxe" to spice up steaks, stews, sauces and vegetarian dishes..
A real delicacy is the "bamboo salt – fine ", which also comes from our own brand World of Salt. The South Korean salt owes its name bamboo salt to a special refinement method, which is attributed to Buddhist monks. The sea salt is burned in bamboo canes after harvesting. The burned salt has a high mineral content due to the burning process. The taste of Korean bamboo salt is really very intense, at the same time the salt is almost as fine as icing sugar. Also with this product you get the pure taste - "the bamboo salt fine" is free of any additives.
Salt is also important for your body
The salt intake is essential for the human organism to survive. As already mentioned, it is important for our electrolysis. This means that our body fluids, such as blood and sweat, use salt to transmit signals within the nerves and muscles. Sodium, a component of salt, also has an effect on blood pressure and bone structure. The second main component of salt, chloride, is important for our digestion, among other things. Since we secrete the important components of salt through our sweat, for example, we have to reabsorb it through our food. We have summarised the greatest health benefits of salt for you here:
- Signal transmission of the nerves and muscles
- Blood pressure regulation
- Bone reconstruction
- Regulation of the digestion
But not so much salt
Like everything, shouldn’t overdo good stuff. That also applies to salt, of course. Too much salt can be harmful, even deadly. But to die from an overdose of salt we would have to consume an unnatural amount at once. The limit value is 3 grams per kilogram of body weight. For an adult with an average weight of 70 kilograms, this is 210 grams of salt. The strong salty taste would reflexively prevent us from doing so. With small children, however, an overdose of salt can occur more quickly. However, the salt can also cause insidious health impairments. For example, too high blood pressure is a possible symptom of excessive salt consumption.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends one teaspoon of salt per day for an average adult, which is about 5 to 6 grams.
The salty Pepperworld conclusion is:
The cooking salt from the supermarket is not comparable to the delicatessen salts from Pepperworld. The salts in the Pepperworld come from the most different regions of our earth. We carry the finest rock and sea salts. In addition, you will also find some delicious salt mixtures with us. Many of the products are purely natural and are regularly tested for harmful substances. So you can buy pure conscience seasoning salts and different kinds of salt from us.
Since salt acts as a natural flavour enhancer, it is impossible to imagine most recipes without it - even desserts taste better with a pinch of salt. In addition to the taste, salt also fulfils a health function. The WHO therefore recommends a daily amount of 5 to 6 grams of salt per day for an average adult. Of course, excessive salt consumption can have negative effects.
