In the US state New Mexico these chilis are a staple, and they have a lot of NuMex-types with big fruits, that are either used when they are still green (fresh, roasted and peeled for stews and salsas most of the time or as stuffed "Chiles Rellenos") but also in red (dried and grounded for sauces, that you can thicken with chilis instead of using flour).
In New Mexico Sandia is one of the most popular chilis and most used favorite for Southwestern-Salsa and to stuff it. With 1500-2000 Scoville-Units this type is medium hot, the early ripened fruits are fleshy and aromatic. The long fruits, typical for NuMex, are growing 16 cm long and up to 4 cm wide; sort is slightly flat. Green fruits in 75 days, red fruits in 90.
Package contains seeds for 15 plants.
