Verde Piccante is a coarse paste of chilli, wild chicory, extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, herbs and spices, which is definitely to our taste. As soon as you open the glass, a wonderful, Mediterranean aroma reaches your nose. The smell can be described as nutty-tart, with a slight pungency. The same goes for the taste of the Verde Piccante from Sarubbi, the paste tastes clearly like olive oil and is also correspondingly oily. This is not a disadvantage, however, because the piquant pungency of the clearly visible chilli pieces is steamed in a delicious way.
