Cicorie alla Calabrese from Sarubbi is the Calabrian version of the bitter-spicy salad chicory. This salad, very popular in the Mediterranean area, is pickled in an aromatic brine of extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, garlic, chilli and salt. All ingredients of the Cicorie alla Calabrese convince by a very high quality. At the same time, the manufacturer Sarubbi avoids the use of flavour enhancers and colourings during the entire production process. This results in a unique taste that could not be better. This taste, coupled with the traditional production method in southern Italy, is the reason why Cicorie alla Calabrese from Sarubbi is considered a real delicacy.
The simple but equally noble packaging also lives up to this claim. The Calabrian interpretation of the chicory is delivered in a glass that is wrapped in a paper banderole and cap. Under the cap there is a guarantee seal that remains intact until the glass is first opened. In the jar itself, there are 190 g of content, which corresponds to several salad leaves.
The very fiery Cicorie alla Calabrese from Sarubbi can be used in a mixed salad or as an appetizer on its own. But the pickled salad leaves also taste fantastic with a slice of bread. They are also suitable as a delicious decoration.
