How many Scoville does a hot sauce have? A Hot Sauce becomes hotter if the Capsaicin amount is higher. The Capsaicin amount is measured in Scoville Heat Units. The mild Hot Sauces start at 100-500 SHU (Typical Supermarket Sauces) on the Pepperworld scale (1-10) the sauces that have 2.500 – 5.000 Shu are about the average. It becomes really hot above 50.000 Scoville. This is why the Vicious Vampire is in the top of the really hot sauces. It becomes hotter only with pure Capsaicin extract, and it can go upwards of 500.000 SHU.

If the Vicious Vampire or another Hot Sauce was to hot there is something that certainly does not help: Water. With the help of water the Capsaicin is spread even more in the mouth, which intensifies the heat and does not lead to it diminishing.
