Description:

This variety differs from others especially in its color. It has dark green leaves, which then quickly turn to a dark violet. The flowers are white with a purple border. Especially good is the Bolivian Rainbow as a houseplant. Both because of their appearance, as well as because of their compact growth habit, they are very decorative plants.

This breed was originally intended to be derived from the Pequin variety (Piquin).

Own experiences:

This ornamental variety is in our experience very high yielding, but is not very large. As mentioned above, these properties make it a perfect chilli plant for people who can only grow their chilies in the home. In addition, you can easily get two harvests a year in the apartment.

In pots, the plants grow very well and are very stable due to their compact growth. Despite the small size, they began to bloom as one of the first varieties with a height of about 5 cm and had countless buds or flowers. About 6-8 weeks after sowing, the first fruits formed, which began to ripen after a further 6-8 weeks. About 4 months after sowing, the plants were already abundant for the second time. The only downside is the lack of aroma of the fruits. However, wonderfully suitable for seasoning, as the heat comes across well.

Outside, the plants are a bit denser or bushier and carry even more fruits. Otherwise, no major differences to the plants grown indoor can be seen.
