Peruvian ground cherry - Vitamin C from the Lantern
The small, yellow berries of the ground cherry grow in pretty lanterns, which are also great for crafting after harvesting. They are very similar to the fruits of the cherry, but are a little smaller and also differ in taste. The ripe ground cherry have a delicious, sweet and sour taste and can be eaten raw. You can also process the ground cheeries to jam, you can cook them or use them for baking cakes. The great thing about the ground cheery: just like the cherry, it has a very high vitamin C content.
