A CULINARY JOURNEY THROUGH THE GARDEN

Cooking vegetables doesn't mean boring and stale. With the right spices, the food is spiced up properly and even dishes without meat are given a good pep.

Vegetables - as a side dish or pure

Vegetables can be used in many ways and make almost every dish the perfect dish. Vegetables contain a lot of fibre and vitamins and are therefore an indispensable part of our diet. However, there are also many types of vegetables that have a rather boring or neutral taste. Suitable spice blends help here immensely. Many dishes can be enhanced with strong flavours such as garlic, onion, paprika, basil or thyme.

The potato - the side dish par excellence

Everyone knows potatoes, boiled, fried, deep-fried. It is the most important food in the world. Simply seasoned with salt or tasty spices. Hardly any other vegetable can be used as flexibly as potatoes. But where does it come from?

In the middle of the 17th century, the potato was introduced into German gardens, but at that time mainly for the purpose of looking pretty, as the potato has very beautiful flowers. Cultivated potato cultivation started towards the end of the 17th century/beginning of the 18th century. It came to Germany via Spain. The first potatoes ever probably came from South America, where traces of wild potatoes were found. Their age is estimated at 13,000 years.

Methods of preparing vegetables

Vegetables can be prepared in many ways. Many vegetables can be eaten raw, others taste cooked, fried, baked or deep-fried. In addition, there are gentle methods of preparation to preserve valuable vitamins. Here we will shortly introduce the following possibilities:

  • Steam cooking
  • braising and steaming
  • Sous vide-Cooking
  • Grilling and roasting
  • baking

Without flavour enhancer

That's good to know: The World of Taste spices are all without flavour enhancers, artificial additives, preservatives, trickle aids, cheap fillers and without colourings and flavourings!
