The Sel de Bayonne is a very special salt - it originates from the salt deposits of the Aquitaine region basins which extend from the Basque city Bayonne up to the French Atlantic seaboard. It is known for its purity, dryness and natural whiteness. Only this salt can be used for the production of the famous Bayonne ham and is the favorite of many famous cooks. Bayonne is close to Espelette so it's no wonder that the fine ingredients of both regions can be mixed up to yield an interesting combination: Bayonne salt with Piment d'Espelette, the delicate Basque chili. The perfect chili salt! The lightly hot and very aromatic coarse salt is fit for universal spices, soups, egg dishes, meat and fish dishes. An intensive Taste experience for cooking and for spicing at the table. We receive the salt directly from the producer in Espelette who also produces he's own Piment d'Espelette
