A CULINARY JOURNEY THROUGH AFRICA

When you think of Africa, you certainly think of safaris with wild animals, elephants and the steppe, but the continent of Africa has much more to offer. Africa is the second largest continent and consists of 54 countries. In Africa, over 2,000 different languages are spoken and there are over 3,000 different peoples. Africa offers everything: great beaches, primeval forests, deserts, mountains, steppes, thrilling cities ... This diversity is also reflected in the African cuisine. Embark on a journey through Africa with the spices of World of Taste. The spices from World of Taste are all free of flavour enhancers, artificial additives, preservatives, trickle aids, cheap fillers, colourings and flavourings.

African cuisine

Typical spices in Africa are cumin, cayenne pepper, coriander, fenugreek seed, nutmeg and cardamom, but also many others. In African cuisine, lamb or chicken meat is often used that can be aromatically seasoned.

Chakalaka

Chakalaka has its origins in African cuisine. It is piquant and spicy. Especially after the soccer world cup 2010 in South Africa, Chakalaka has found its way into our western shops as a spice in various products. Chakalaka chips are also particularly well known in our shops. But what exactly is Chakalaka? Originally Chakalaka is an African spice sauce, the ingredients include tomatoes, carrots, peppers and chilli peppers, baked beans and white cabbage. Depending on the recipe, spices such as garlic, pepper, curry, ginger and coriander are added to the sauce. Chakalaka is served with bread or as grills with meat. You can find the typical Chakalaka spice mixture in our shop.

Typical African dishes

Traditional dishes of African cuisine include couscous salad, hummus, sweet potato stew or harissa chicken. With the matching spice blends from World of Salt, you'll find delicious African notes for your dish. Soon you'll find recipes for typical African dishes here.

Without flavour enhancers

That's good to know: The World of Taste spices are all without flavour enhancers, artificial additives, preservatives, trickle aids, cheap fillers and without colourings and flavourings!
