The Peruvian Purple is the dark beauty in the garden. It belongs to the Pequin Chilis and forms krischgroße, pointed cone-shaped upright growing fruits of about 4cm. The maturing fruits are purple to almost black (aubergine) and show up just before maturity in a rich red. This creates an incredibly intense color contrast.
This is intensified by the leaf color. Depending on the intensity of the sunlight, the stem and the green of the leaves darken. So the leaves tops are a lot brighter in the sun from a deep, dark green and the leaf bases.
The plant grows bushy and is ideal for pot culture. Alternately planted with the NuMex Centennial, a true feast for the eyes during the fruit ripening season!
The fruits have a great smoky aroma, which is intensified by drying. Very suitable for own spice mixtures.
