BOOK in GERMAN!
The original edition was published in the USA and Great Britain under the title "The Red Hot Chili Cookbook" in 2012 ...now the 160 pages are also available in German.
The author Dan May started in 2005 with the cultivation of chili peppers in the not exactly chili-typical North of England. From an initially rather pure hobby (he was actually a photographer at that time and did not need a second job) suddenly a new passion developed. Dan seemed to have a really green thumb, because the first harvest was abundant and he had to think about what to do with it. Soon he was selling his chili sauces and marinades at supermarkets and delicatessens. Recently, we too were thinking about adding his sauces from "Trees Can't Dance" to our assortment ...
Many sweaty hours behind the hot stove inspired him to write this, his first cookbook. Great food photographs illustrate his "sharp passion" and express it in a truly tasty way. If you don't get the urge to cook along, it's your own fault... ;)
That Dan May is a culinary globetrotter is shown by his beautiful recipes. Each dish to be cooked is briefly characterized and geographically assigned. If there is a history of the respective country, Dan will briefly address you with loose words. If you can talk about "loose language style" in a cookbook, here is a hint. We enjoyed reading it!
Great little feature: Each recipe contains a short hint about the recommended chili variety(ies)! This is also easy and practical for chili beginners! It shows above all, someone here knows about chilies and knows about their specialties. Something that we, as chilli spezis, of course particularly like.
Just like our spicy information on every article, the "Spicy-Hirarchi" in the Chili cookbook also works. The number of pods indicates the degree of sharpness.
We are seriously enthusiastic about Dan May's Chili cookbook! Beautiful hardcover edition, strong recycled paper, extremely beautiful gourmet photos and a nice style make this book a great gift - not only for chili experts, but especially for all lovers of good food! Because all those who like to cook with chillies know that a certain spiciness doesn't "spoil" the meal, but emphasizes the other ingredients and makes the overall picture an experience ... Dan May knows this too!
