An aromatic, very spicy variety, with fruits that ripen dark red. The Pico Mucho needs a lot of light and warmth and is very productive.
Rocoto is the common name of all chillies belonging to the main group Capsicum pubescens; they are characterized by perenniality and were probably bred in South America more than 8000 years ago. In the Andes, these chillies grow in the high mountains, where the shrub-like plants reach a height of 2 m and more. The leaves are light to dark green and - in contrast to the chillies of the other main groups - clearly hairy. The flowers are violet.
This variety was first cultivated in Finland and ripens from green to dark red. It is very pungent and very suitable for Rocoto Relleno.
