Habanero is a true chilli classic. It does not come from Cuba, as the name may suggest, but from Yucatan / Mexico.
With 250,000-300,000 Scoville, these are not in direct competition with the whole super hot à la Bhut Jolokia, 7-Pot and Co. Nevertheless, they are also really hot for some that like it hot but are not extremely hot.

Fiery-fruity chili jam perfect for breakfast or as ice cream.
Ingredients:
500 g of pulp of the Galia melon
125g jelly sugar, 2:1
1 Habanero
1 Organic lemon
Instructions:
- Peel the melon and cut into small pieces. Core Habanero and finely chop.
- Cut the lemon in half, squeeze out one half, and cut the other half into thin slices.
- Simmer the melon, jam sugar, lemon juice and chili together for a few minutes and then purée.
- Press the lemon slices from the inside against the glass wall of the preserving jars, fill in the jam, close the jars.
