"Zeisner Gewürz-Ketchup scharf" is a spicy ketchup sauce with mild heat. I think the given heat level of 4 is too high compared to other products I tried from this online shop.
Zeisner also offers a "Curry-Ketchup" and you might wonder what the difference is, especially if you know that "curry" is just a spice mixture and not even a specific one. Well, in terms of the ingredients list, there is no difference. The two products seemingly only differ by the relative amounts of the single ingredients used to give the final product.
The "Gewürz-Ketchup" is less sour and the acid becomes most apparent in the aftertaste while the "Curry-Ketchup"'s acidity becomes dominant a bit earlier, no wonder as the latter one seems to contain more vinegar (3rd vs 2nd listed ingredient).
On the other hand, the "Gewürz-Ketchup" tastes sweeter and more spicy, again supported by the nutritional info saying that the "Gewürz-Ketchup" has more sugars/carbohydrates (35.5g vs 31.9g), spices (1% vs 0.7%), and curry powder most likely too but no percentage is given.
I personally prefer the "Gewürz-Ketchup" as it has a rounder and spicier taste.
The sour taste is a tad subtler and the spices tickle a bit more in terms of hotness. On the downside it has even more sugar.
I still would give this product a heat level of 2 (same level as the "Curry-Ketchup"), maybe 3 at most to make the subtle difference apparent - it definitely isn't a sauce for people who want higher heat. (I haven't tested "Zeisner Curry-Ketchup HOT" so far.)
Now I don't know why almost all the info is missing on the English page, but here it is:
• Hot Spicy Ketchup
• Ingredients: tomato purée (35%), sugar, spirit vinegar, apple purée, modified starch, salt, spices (1%) (contains mustard), curry powder, thickeners: guar gum, locust bean gum
• 800ml, 950g
• Per 100g: energy 626kJ 147kcal, fat 0.2g, of which saturated 0.1g, carbohydrate 35.5g, of which sugars 34.4g, protein 0.9g, salt 1.7g
