Serrano - The other Mexican classic!
Through their clear poignant spiciness, the Serranos are fit for very hot dishes, sauces and salads. Finely chopped and in small portions, the Serranos give even fresh salads - like tomato salad or cabbage salad - a bit of 'Umpf'.
If a recipe requires Thai chilis and you don't have any, you can replace one Thai with three Serranos. Spicy pickled you can find alongside the Serrano chilis also carrot slices and onions - a pleasant chili alternative to Cornichons or pickled cucumbers! The spicy vinegar is fit for seasonings - as an example: for potato soups and lentil dishes and Vinaigrettes.
