Fiery-fine BBQ from the Black Forest: Homemade BBQ sauce and handmade dried meat - That's how BBQ sauce and the best meat quality with an unmistakable smoky note of Black Forest woods and love of home has to taste.

Jerky - the oldest snack in the world

The history of jerky began thousands of years ago with the need to preserve meat. Already the indigenous peoples of South America ate jerky made of lama, goat or game meat. So "Jerky" is derived from the Quechua word for dried meat "Charki". The Indians of North America made Pemmikan from dried buffalo meat, which was especially popular among settlers, cowboys and miners.

Jerky is the international term for dried meat, but there are different terms for it all over the world. For example, in South Africa and Namibia you snack Biltong, in South America Charquí, in Turkey Pastırma and in Portugal Carne Seca. And in Germany? Of course only Black Forest Jerky!
